Mamure Öz

She started her ornamentation and miniature works in 1976 at the training center partaking in the Medical History Professorship of the Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty under the chairmanship of Ord. Prof. Dr. A. Süheyl ÜNVER. She participated in the Turkish Ornamentation Arts courses in the Topkapı Palace Museum Ornamentation House, which operates as associated with the Ministry of Culture. She started to give lectures in this training center in the field of Basic Education and Ornamentation in 1982, and she continued to perform this duty till 2012.

She received 2-year certificate training in the field of hand-carving in the Mimar Sinan University between 1981-1983. She participated in the restoration of many historical buildings and in the hand-carving works of recently-made architectural buildings in Istanbul.  She opened her first solo exhibition in 1985. She participated in numerous exhibitions at home and abroad since 1977. The artist, having many artworks in many places of the world, gave lectures about Ornamentation and Miniature in various institutions and organizations.


She got first place in the field of marbling in a contest organized by the Foundation for the Empowerment and Promotion of Turkish Woman in 1988.

She got first place in the field of Ornamentation in a contest about our traditional arts organized by the Ministry of Culture in 1990.

Likewise, she got first place in the field of ornamentation in the same contest opened by T.R Ministry of Culture in 1991.

In an international contest organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Algeria, she got third place in the field of ornamentation on November 19, 2006.

She continued her works in the SEMA Ornamentation House that she opened with Semih İRTEŞ in Fatih between the dates of October 21, 1991 – May 9, 2008.

She has been renovating the Fruit Room of Ahmed III, which is located in the Women’s Quarters of the Topkapı Palace Museum, since December 2015.

She has been continuing her works in the center, which is operating under the name of NAKKAŞ Ornamentation Arts Center following the moving of the Sema Ornamentation House to the dervish lodge within the Üsküdar Valide-i Atik Complex on May 9, 2008.
