Gülsüm Gügercin

She was born in Germany in 1976. The education started in Germany continued in Istanbul. She graduated from Üsküdar Imam Hatip High School in 1994.

She started taking gilding lessons from Necati Sancaktutan in 1995. She completed her education in 2000.

She has participated in exhibitions both in Turkey and abroad with her works and she has works in private collections, museums and published books.

She received awards in the Al - Burda international illuminated manuscript (ornamentation) competition organized by the Abu Dhabi Ministry of Culture at 2008, 2009 and 2015 at U.S.E.

She made the application of the gilding of the Prestige Holy Qur'an published in 2012 by The Turkish Religious Foundation.

She has performed applied workshops abroad. She continues her studies in gilding and at the same time transfers his knowledge to his students.
